Since I got my Celine Mini Belt Bag i received a lot of questions about it. Which size do you have? Which color is this? How do you like the bag? So I thought I’ll share a Celine Mini Belt Bag Review with you. I got this bag last year and it was a birthday/graduation present from my family. Since then I’m wearing it almost everyday and I think now I can tell you a lot about this bag. For me, the Celine Mini Belt Bag has pros and cons which I’ll tell you more about in a second. Before ordering the bag I wanted to do my research but was not really lucky with that. I couldn’t find any Celine Mini Belt Bag Reviews. So I really wanted to share mine with you.

 

Celine Mini Belt Bag

The Belt Bag is one of the Phoebe Philo designs. She’s the former designer of Celine. I loved Phoebes designs and there was no bag or accessories I didn’t like. I’m definitely part of the #oldceline gang. Some of the Phoebe Philo bags are still available in the new collections. I think they are part of the classic collection now which you can find every season. The logo on the bags obviously has changed. It’s without the accent now.

Celine Mini Belt Bag Review

Which size do you have?

The Celine Belt Bag is currently available in four sizes: Pico, Nano, Micro and Mini. The names can confuse you because the Mini in this case is the biggest size. The Pico is the smallest and also the newest size. I got the biggest size. So mine is the Celine Mini Belt Bag.

I wanted a bigger bag. This is why I chose the biggest size. I also tried on the Micro, a size smaller, and I loved it but what I didn’t like on the Micro was the long strap. You can wear the Micro (also the Pico and the Nano) crossbody therefore the strap is much longer. I do prefer the shorter strap, because the Belt Bag is not really a bag I want to wear crossbody. Therefore I opted for the Mini size. The shoulder strap is removable.

I’m 1,67 cm and for my height I think the Mini is still a great size. I don’t think it’s too big on me. But I would recommend you to try all the sizes just to be sure.

I also get a lot of questions about the shape of the belt and how I keep them so flat. The belts tend to loose their shape. But what I do since I got the bag is I always put the bag on something where the belts can hang down (which you can see on all pictures). So they don’t loose the shape.

If you’re not wearing your bag daily try to put something in the bag so it doesn’t loose the shape. When it’s empty it can’t hold the shape very well and that’s not good for the bag.

Which color and which leather do you have?

I got my Celine Mini Belt Bag in the color “light taupe”. This size is only available in a few colors like black, grey, dark green and dark red. But the other sizes come in lots of different colors. I always loved the light taupe color because it’s so versatile. The color is great for winter but also for summer. I’m still very happy that I decided on this color.

It has gold hardware and the leather is grained calfskin which is very durable. I don’t prefer really sensitive leather because I don’t want to think about it. I just want to wear my bag without being afraid to ruin the leather. I’m still pretty careful when it comes to my things I own but I think you know what I mean.

What fits in the bag?

The Mini Belt Bag is the biggest size and therefore it has a lot of room in it. What I mostly carry in my bag: card holder, passport, tissues, sunglasses+case, Notebook and Pen, AirPods, a small beauty case and masks. There is still a lot of room for other things. You can also fit a MacBook Pro in it but the zip will not close properly. I don’t really put my MacBook in it because I have a separate case for it. The Canon 70D also fits in the bag but it gets quite heavy and there’s not much space left for other things. I sometimes put it in my bag but I don’t want to ruin the shape.

The bag only has two smaller pockets in the inside, in which I keep my card holder and passport. It also has a zipped outer pocket on the back which I always keep empty.

The Mini Belt Bag is not a heavy bag for my opinion. For a bag this size it’s quite light. It can get a bit heavy when you’re carrying it the whole day though but I think that’s totally normal.

For which occasions do you wear the bag?

The Celine Mini Belt Bag is very versatile. It’s a classic design but at the same time very contemporary as well. That’s what I like most about it. Therefore it’s suitable for different styles and different occasions. Office, Brunch, Dinner, Travel – you can always wear it.

I do have to say that I’m wearing the bag much more during Spring, Fall and Winter. I don’t like the look of the size with summer dresses or skirts a lot. I mean it totally depends on the styling. Sometimes I quite like it but as I said, I’m wearing it much more when it get’s a bit colder. I just think it suits my fall/winter wardrobe better.

How practical is the Flap with the belt?

One of the disadvantages of this bag is the closure. It closes two ways: top flap and zipper. The zipper is perfect because it keeps all your belongings safe. The Flap you can put over the belt or under the belt. I like to put it under the belt because I like the look of it. Obviously it takes a bit of your time to do that. If you don’t want to waste your time with closing your bag you can also put the Flap over the Belt. It’s also a bit difficult to close the zipper one handed. But for me the closure is not a big deal. It doesn’t really bother me. I think it totally depends on you how you prefer to close it.

What about the prices?

Here you can find all the prices for the Celine Belt Bags. There was a price increase since I got mine. So if you’re thinking about getting the Belt Bag be quick because there could be another price increase.

 

Do you recommend this bag?

Normally all new designer pieces I get give me butterflies but this time it was different. I loved the bag but I wasn’t too sure because of the size. I’m so used to wearing small bags that this bag was too big for me although I wanted a big bag. During Summer I even thought about selling the bag. But then it happened. I fell in love. With the bag obviously. During Fall I really started to like it because it worked with almost all my outfits. Since than I just love my Mini Belt Bag and I can really recommend it to you. I think it’s a classic piece which doesn’t go out of style. It’s classic but modern at the same time. It works with almost every look. But I’d definitely check out all the sizes because it can be too big for some people.
