It’s not easy to get out of your comfort zone. Because who wants to leave the place where you feel most comfortable and safe. I don’t want to pretend that it’s easy for me to do that. It’s definitely not. But it is a step you need to take if you want to push the boundaries. Because things which are out of your comfort zone and which seem to be uncomfortable are the things which will bring you further.

Why it’s important to get out of your comfort zone
because,
- it helps expanding your horizon and experience new things
- you get to know yourself
- it’s a great feeling and a sense of achievement if you meet a challenge
- it’s good for raising self-confidence and self-esteem
- you can overcome your fears
- if you practice to get out of your comfort zone you get used to it and it’s not that difficult anymore to get out of your comfort zone
- the more goals you achieve the more motivated you are for the next one
Sounds good, right? But how can you get out of your comfort zone?
x Try new things
If you want to get out of your comfort zone you have to try out new things which are out of your comfort zone. You’ll never know what’s out there waiting for you until you go and find it for yourself. For me it’s really difficult to talk to strangers or do the first step in a conversation, for example at Uni. It’s a challenge for me to talk to the person who sits next to me and also going to an event where I don’t know anybody is really difficult for me. But afterwards I’m feeling really good and I’m proud of myself that I did overcome my fear and went to the event.
x Face your fears
I know this task isn’t that easy. You’ve to push yourself even if you’re scared or even it it gets rough. But if you want to overcome your fear you have to face them and take small steps which will lead to success. Otherwise you’ll be overstrained with the new situation and you are more tempted to give up.
x Worst-Case-Szenario
Think about the Worst-Case-Szenario. What is the worst thing that can happen and is it really that bad if it happens? Let’s be honest. How often did we think about the worst things that can happen and it turned out quite good?
x Best-Case Szenario
If we think about the Worst-Case-Szenario we also have to think about the Best-Case-Szenario. Just imagine which good things can happen to you if you dare to do something you were really afraid of.
x Practice
Do it over and over again until you get used to it. If you’re getting used to something it will not be difficult anymore to get out of your comfort zone.
x Don’t give up
You get out of your comfort zone and overcome your fear but you’re not feeling very good about it? Don’t give up. It’s ok that you are not feeling good after your first attempt. But as I said earlier practice is the key to success. Dare to try it over and over again until you feel very good about it.
x Don’t try to be perfect
Let’s be honest. If we see all the fit and tanned girls with their beach waves on Instagram which are waking up in another city everyday we can get quite frustrated about our own life. We compare ourself with those girls. We get bored of our life, we don’t like our looks, and we think about the fact that they are all more successful than we will ever be. Please don’t forget that the World of Social Media is superficial and that everyone has their ups and downs also the girls who seem to have the perfect life, the perfect relationships or the perfect look.
x Be positive!
A positive vibe is really important if you want to get out of your comfort zone. Believe in you! If you believe in yourself you can do everything! Try to always focus on the good things! I know it’s not easy and it’s definitely not easy for me. But in this case exercise will also help a lot!
Why I wanted to talk about this topic
If you ask yourself why I’m talking about this topic, here is the answer. In today’s post I’m wearing my hair center parted and I think that’s the first time ever I’m wearing it like that. I didn’t think that center parting really suits me. But I really wanted to try something new and when I saw the pictures I quite liked my hair. This is something really out of my comfort zone and I was really ensure about the hair. But the result is not so bad I guess. What I wanna say is, that even the smallest things can help you to feel good and lead to your success. I’m not the best at getting out of my comfort zone but I’m trying my best and I hope I can motivate you to do the best for you!
